This historical teahouse district was established in 1820 by the Kaga clan by gathering teahouses scattered along the right bank of the Asano River. The traditional townscape remains and has been selected as a national Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Kappo restaurants, cafes, and craft stores line the streets.
