西宮神社 / Nishinomiya Shrine

福の神として崇敬されるえびす様が祀られている神社の総本社、西宮神社は、本殿が三連春日造という珍しい構造でつくられています。また境内のえびすの森は天然記念物に指定されており、新年には参拝者が本殿まで走り参りを行う「開門神事」が行われています。

Nishinomiya Shrine is the head shrine of Ebisu-sama, who is revered as the god of fortune. The main hall is made of a rare structure called Sanren Kasuga-zukuri. The Ebisu Forest in the precincts is designated as a natural monument, and on New Year’s Day, visitors run to the main hall in a ritual called "Kaimon Shiki".
