打吹山の中腹にある長谷寺は、室町末期から約400年に渡って大小約50点が奉納されていた大絵馬が有名です。中でも「白馬之図」は毎晩絵馬から飛び出して田畑を荒らしたという伝説が残っており、他には武者絵や歌舞伎などの絵馬があります。
Hase-ji Temple, located on the hillside of Uchifukiyama, is famous for its large ema paintings that have been dedicated for about 400 years from the end of the Muromachi period. Among them, “Hakuma no Zu” has a legend that it came out of the ema every night and ravaged the fields, and there are also ema paintings of warriors and kabuki.
