後醍醐天皇方の楠木正成によって築かれた千早城は三方が絶壁になっており、千早川の地形の利を用いた要害の地に佇んでいます。日本100名城に指定されており、千早城の戦いの舞台として「太平記」にも記載されています。
Chihaya Castle, built by Kusunoki Masashige of Emperor Go-Daigo’s side, is located on a cliff on three sides and stands on a strategic point that uses the terrain of Chihaya River. It is designated as one of Japan’s 100 famous castles and is also described in the “Taiheiki” as the stage of the Battle of Chihaya Castle.
