花窟神社 / Hananoiwaya Shrine

なんと高さ45メートルもの巨大な岩をご神体としている花窟神社には、伊弉冉尊と軻遇突智尊がご祭神として祀られています。春季と秋季には約170メートルの大網をご神木まで渡す大迫力の「御網掛け神事」が行われます。

Hananoiwaya Shrine is a shrine that has a huge rock of 45 meters high as its sacred object, and enshrines Izanami-no-Mikoto and Kagutsuchi-no-Mikoto as its main deities. In spring and autumn, a powerful ritual called “Onawakake” is performed, in which a large net of about 170 meters is stretched from the sacred rock to the sacred tree.
