1608年に初代岩国藩主の吉川広家によって築かれた岩国城は錦川を外堀として利用し、標高約200メートルの城山に佇んでいました。ですが7年後の一国一城令により取り壊されてしまい、1962年に再建された姿が現在まで残っています。
Iwakuni Castle, which was built by Yoshikawa Hiroie, the first lord of Iwakuni Domain, in 1608, used the Nishiki River as an outer moat and stood on Castle Mountain, which is about 200 meters above sea level. However, it was demolished seven years later by the one-country-one-castle order, and the current appearance was rebuilt in 1962.
