国の名勝天然記念物に指定されている橋杭岩は、海の浸食によって岩が削られ、残った岩の硬い部分が規則的に並んでいる様子が橋の杭のように見えることからこの名がつけられました。この橋杭岩は約850メートルほど続いています。
