金剛峯寺 / Kongobuji Temple

金剛峯寺がある高野山は、平安時代のはじめに弘法大師によって開かれました。境内総坪数48,295坪の広大な敷地を持つ金剛峯寺の名は「金剛峯楼閣一切瑜伽瑜祇経」というお経から名付けられたと言われています。

Koyasan, where Kongobuji Temple is located, was opened by Kobo Daishi at the beginning of the Heian period. The name of Kongobuji Temple, which has a vast site of 48,295 tsubo, is said to have been named after a sutra called “Kongobu-rokaku Issai Yuga Yugyo-kyo”.
