A shrine with a very long history of over 1100 years since its enshrinement. Until the Edo period, it was the 13th temple of the Shikoku 88 Places Pilgrimage, but it was separated from the bettoji temple Dainichi-ji at the beginning of the Meiji era by the Shinto and Buddhism separation order. In front of the shrine, there is Dainichi-ji Temple, which was integrated during the Shinto and Buddhism syncretism era.
