全国から神々が集まると言われている旧暦10月10日から一週間、出雲大社では神在祭が行われます。集まった神々はこの期間中に神議りを行い、誰と誰を結婚させるかなど人が知ることのできない様々な縁結びに関する話し合いをすると言われています。神在祭の前には神迎祭、後には神等去出祭が行われ、それらが終わると神々は全国各地に戻っていきます。
The Kamiari Festival is held at Izumo Taisha Shrine for a week from October 10th of the old calendar, when gods from all over Japan are said to gather. The gathered gods hold a divine council during this period, where they discuss various matters related to matchmaking that humans cannot know, such as who to marry whom. Before the Kamiari Festival, there is the Kamimukae Festival, and after that there is the Kamitogode Festival. When they are over, the gods return to various places all over Japan.
