琉球の始祖「アマミキヨ」が造ったとされ、琉球の最高神女であった聞得大君の就任の儀式が執り行わられた、国始めの七御嶽の一つといわれる観光客が一度は訪れる沖縄最高の聖地です。
この史跡の歴史は古く。世界文化遺産にも登録されています。

It is said to be one of the seven sacred places of the country’s beginning that was created by Amamikiyo, the ancestor of Ryukyu who came down from heaven to the island. The history of this historic site is old. It is also registered as a World Heritage Site.
