2000年12月には「琉球王国のグスク及び関連遺産群」として世界遺産に登録されました。
城郭部の面積は122,399平方メートルにおよびます。
A castle built almost in a straight line from northeast to southwest on a hill with an altitude of 160 meters along Nakagusuku Bay on the east coast of Okinawa Island. In December 2000, it was registered as a World Heritage Site as “Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu”. The area of the castle area is 122,399 square meters.
