琉球王国時代の新年を祝う儀式を再現する催しが行われ、多くの人でにぎわっています。
首里城公園内には、「オリジナルの缶バッジを作ろう」や琉球国王の象徴である龍やシーサーなどに描く「漆喰絵付け体験」といった体験コーナーがあり、「首里城メッセージカード」では新年の抱負や願いごとを書いて飾ることもできます。
新春にふさわしい華やかなイベントです。
