津山盆地の中央部にある津山城は、あの本能寺の変で討死した森蘭丸の弟、森忠政によって築かれました。明治の廃城令で一度は取り壊されましたが、2005年には築城400周年を祝う立派な備中櫓が復元されました。
Tsuyama Castle, located in the central part of the Tsuyama Basin, was built by Mori Ranmaru’s brother, Mori Tadashi, who was killed at Honnoji Temple by Oda Nobunaga. It was once demolished by the Meiji abolition of castles order, but in 2005 a splendid Bitchu Yagura was restored to celebrate the 400th anniversary of its construction.
