このお祭りは日田最大規模で、多彩なイベントが市内一円で行われています。
毎年10万人を超える観光客でにぎわう中、合計約1万発の花火が夜空を彩ったり、大きな桶を浮かべて行うハンギリ源平合戦や、田市内の学生が迫力ある音楽を奏でながらパレードをしたり、ダンボールボートレースが行われたりと、様々なイベントが開催されています。
