室生寺 / Muroji Temple

室生寺は同じ真言宗の女人禁制だった高野山金剛峰寺に対して女人の参詣を許可したため、女人高野と呼ばれています。大切に後世に残された本尊釈迦如来立像をはじめとする多くの国宝があり、四季折々の季節の彩りを楽しむこともできます。

Muroji Temple is called Nyoin Koya because it allowed women to visit as opposed to Koyasan Kongobuji Temple of the same Shingon sect, which was prohibited for women. There are many national treasures, including the principal image of Shaka Nyorai standing statue that was carefully handed down to later generations, and you can also enjoy the colors of the seasons throughout the year.
