石舞台古墳は天井石の上側面が広く平らで舞台のように見えたため、石舞台と呼ばれるようになりました。巨大な石が30個積み上げられた光景は大迫力で、この巨大な石たちは蘇我馬子の墓ではないかという考察が近年ではされています。
