行基が彫った重要文化財の木造千手十一面観音像を安置しており、本堂の150枚の天井絵は1846年に、長崎派画家で油絵の先駆者の石崎融思らが描いたもので、県の重要文化財に指定されています。
This temple is said to be the oldest temple in the Nagasaki area. It enshrines an important cultural property of Japan, a wooden statue of Senju Jūichimen Kannon carved by Gyoki, and the 150 ceiling paintings in the main hall were painted by Ishizaki Yūshi and other Nagasaki painters who were pioneers of oil painting in 1846, and are designated as important cultural properties of the prefecture.
