Miyazaki Shrine Grand Festival
The origin of this festival is that the townspeople who have worshipped Emperor Jimmu as their own shrine submitted a petition saying, “Please let us worship you to our heart’s content with our whole family once a year, as we cannot visit you closely because the way to the shrine is far away.” The highlight is the “Divine Procession”. About 1,000 people, including characters from mythology, portable shrines, and “Miss Shan Shan Horse”, parade.
