松尾寺 / Matsuo Temple

青葉山の中腹に佇む松尾寺は国宝に指定されている「絹本著色普賢延命像」や重要文化財の「木造阿弥陀如来坐像」をはじめとする、たくさんの文化財を所蔵しています。また5月には「仏舞」と呼ばれる中世より伝わる伝統行事が行われます。

Matsuo Temple, which stands on the hillside of Aoba Mountain, houses many cultural properties, including the "Silk-painted Fugen Enmei-zo", which is designated as a national treasure, and the "Wooden Amida Nyorai Sitting Statue", which is an important cultural property. Also, in May, a traditional event called "Buddha Dance" that has been handed down from the Middle Ages is held.
