お盆の伝統行事、京都五山送り火は、見物客が10万人を超えると言われています。まず初めに大の字が東山に浮かび、次に松ケ崎に妙・法、西賀茂に船形、大北山に左大文字、最後に嵯峨に鳥居形が赤く燃え上がります。火が灯るのは1時間も満たない短時間ですが、人生で一回は見ておきたい光景です。
