城域は東西1.6ｋｍ、南北1.2ｋｍ、周囲5.3ｋｍ、城域約76万平方ｍで、400年の歴史を持ちます。
春には山桜、肥後桜、ソメイヨシノの3種類・約800本の桜が咲き誇ります。夜間にライトアップされた熊本城もおすすめです。
