足摺岬は海蝕による洞窟、洞門に恵まれているが、白山洞門はその中でも最も大きく、高さ16m、幅17mの大きさです。
花崗岩でできた洞門では日本最大級で、高知県の天然記念物に指定されています。
階段の遊歩道が整備されており、浜まで降りてすぐ近くでその姿を見ることができます。
