筥崎宮放生会は「万物の生命をいつくしみ、殺生を戒め、秋の実りに感謝する」祭りで、博多三大祭りに数えられる、1000年以上続く人気のあるお祭りです。
参道にはお化け屋敷や射的、ヨーヨー釣り、新ショウガなど500軒ほどの露店が並び、期間中のべ100万人が訪れます。
また2年に一度（西暦の奇数年）行われる御神幸では、御下りと御上りに氏子約500名の奉仕により厳粛に齋行されます。
Hakozaki Shrine Hojoya is a festival that celebrates “the life of all things, refrains from killing, and gives thanks for the autumn harvest”. It is one of the three major festivals in Hakata and a popular festival that has been held for over 1000 years. About 500 stalls line up along the approach to the shrine, selling haunted houses, shooting games, yoyo fishing, new ginger, etc., and about one million people visit during the period. Also, once every two years (odd-numbered years in the Western calendar), the mikoshi procession is solemnly performed by about 500 parishioners in the descent and ascent.
