1000年以上の歴史を持つ八幡まつりは国の無形民俗文化財に選ばれており、毎年たくさんの人々で賑わいを見せています。ヨシと菜種がらから作られた10メートルの松明に火が灯る瞬間は思わず息をのんでしまうほど。別名「近江八幡の火祭り」とも呼ばれています。燃え盛る炎の熱気に気圧されないようにご注意ください。
